Active since 2007 on the deeper side of electronic music, Frankfurt’s Sascha Dive has put his smooth deep house sound signature on an impressive number of releases, most of them with influential labels like Love Letters From Oslo, Raum…musik, Cocoon, Tsuba and also his own imprints, Dive Records and Deep Dive Recordings. Sascha has also teamed up with Raresh for Cocoon’s In The Mix: Blue & Green, a double CD that prooved quintessential for the minimal house scene back then.

It came with no surprise that, after accepting our invitation to be part of the Playlists series, Sascha Dive chose a soulful dub theme, with a 5 tracks that stood the text of time. Maybe some of these records served as an inspiration for , his recent vinyl release for Bondage Music, a dub house infused record that also comes with a surprise guest appearance from Robert Owens on one track.

Basic Channel- Quadrant Dub II

This is my favourite record from Mark Ernestus & Moritz von Oswald. It is actually a Dub Version from “Im Your Brother“ featuring. Andy Caine. I heard this for the first time on a mini.disc player from Sony whilst retuning home on the train from one of my eralier gigs in Amsterdam around 2008/2009.

I was completely stunned by the driven chords and bass – an absolutely amazing and timeless production!

Rhythm & Sound with Cornell Campbell – King In My Empire

I have all the records from the Burial Mix series, but this is truly my favourite! Perfect settings of the vocals and the bassline which is so deep.

DeepChord – Vantage Isle (DC Mix I)

Steven Hitchell from USA was, in my opinion, always one of the dub pioneers. This track is really minimalistic but it is the small dub elements in between which make it so exciting!

Convextion – Crawling And Hungry

This one I heard for the first time on a mix tape from a friend of mine. He commenced the mix with this track and for me it reamins one of the best tracks that Convextion ever made.

Steve O`Sullivan & Yosssi Amoyal feat. Paul St. Hilaire – Singularity

There are so many good productions from Steve O`Sullivan, from whom I have almost all of his early Mosaic Records. When this came out on Sushitech I just went „WOW“! I can well remember playing this track in Buenos Aires as an opening track in a really dark club and it just blew my mind away..

I consider this to be one of the best porductions ever from Steve.
