Ever danced to one of Dor De Munte’s editions, held close to Brașov every summer for quite a few years now? If so, then chances are you’ve tripped a bit to Aleka‘s wicked sets, alongside Vygo, his friend and partner. Even if he traded the fresh air of the Carpathians for the foggy bustle in London for the last couple of years, Aleka is still strongly connected to Romania’s house & techno underground, mainly through Synesthesia, his own record label that has promoted artists like Mihai Pol, Vlad Dinu or Hansel!
So, our invitation to De Pe La Noi series came naturally: a 1 hour mix built exclusively with Romanian releases, alongside a short interview to catch up Aleka’s perspective on what Romania has best to offer ;) Enjoy!

Definitely the club that I care the most is Trippin Cafe from my home city Brasov! It’s where everything really started for me.

Coming from Brașov, I would say that an iconic spot would be Piața Sfatului, it’s one of my favorite places in the whole world!
The best dinner you had in Romania
I can say that i was really impressed by a place from Tg. Mures named Tempo-Laci Csarda. The food there is amazing and also the palinca is great, so it’s one of my favorite places, and whenever I am in the area I am going there to eat.
The Romanian word you enjoy saying it the most
I use very often the word ”țiplă” when I want to say that something is really nice.
De Pe La Noi series aims to go deep into the Romanian undeground to discover the beauty of this holy land and the amazing people that inhabit it. Each episode will feature a Romanian artist mixing only Romanian sounds and pointing out a few places and people that inspire him into his work. The series celebrates 100 years since The Great Union (1918), the moment that marked the birth of modern Romania.
