Ahhhh, the Sunwaves May edition! That week when time stands still and life is sucking you down an insane spiral of endless housey loops, pointless trips between stages to find something (or someone) until you’ve already forgotten what was you’re looking for, the usual Ricardo vs Rhadoo b2b rumours, hours long chats with strangers sharing their life stories, continuous missions in search of some rolling paper, greedy sleazy cab drivers, lost credit cards inside scary toilets, cold pizza, smiles, tears, new friends, old buddies.

Yet, above all this pleasant chaos, we’re in for the music Sunwaves has to offer each and every year. And, beside the usual suspects, we selected 5 acts we definitely wouldn’t miss on this edition:

Amir Javasoul – close friends with Ricardo Villalobos, Amir’s extended set from SW’s previous edition got us by storm, proving he is a one fine record selector.  We profiled his vinyl alter ego earlier this year and you can catch him playing on Saturday night.

Sahau (live) – Dan Andrei, Kozo and Paul Agripa on the same stage and some analog gear to their disposal to freely express their creativity when it comes to electronic music. Can’t get anything better than this! You can check them during Friday (daytime).

Floog (live) – Behind the Floog moniker we found George G, one third of Premiesku, a guy crazy about wiring and synchronising studio gear then using them to create amazing pieces of tech house dipped into his Depeche Mode influences. Scheduled on Saturday (daytime)

Binh – keeping a low profile, Binh’s strong ties with Perlon and Cabaret Recordings are a proof for his production skills. Yet his DJ sets are full of forgotten gems and never-to-be-released obscurities. Friday night!

Praslea & Cezar – this one is for the super marathon technoheads! Praslea & Cezar will throw on the decks all their best stuff, starting somewhere on Monday afternoon and ending God knows when (most probably somewhere on Tuesday). Only the strongest will survive!

See you on the beach!
