Take the Japanese and Korean origins, use them as a source of inspiration and filter them through Western influences like the Berlin and London scene and you’ll get an eclectic mixture of electronic sounds, with tribal accents and deep colors, and visual arts. This is Red Pig Flower, a modern artist who received the holy touch of clubs like Womb Tokyo, Nest or Air Seoul where she played in her first years as a DJ. Owner of Sound of Vast, a vinyl only imprint based in Amsterdam, Red Pig Flower breathes electronic music so it was about time to reveal her less known side of personality, as seen through her private record collection.

Catch Red Pig Flower playing for Dava Festival, Sighișoara, 7.09-9.09.2018. Details here!

A second hand dig I’m most proud of
Frank Chickens – We Are Ninja: I found this record at Red Light Record in Amsterdam, actually my friend Neco got this… I even thought we all fought for this record… but I had to introduce this one to people, this is kinda the most unique Japanese old school house which still can blow the dance floor.

The record I’d love to see it repressed

DJ QU – Party People Clap. I really miss DJ QU’s weird house period…. this track made me discovered DJ QU and I think it is still my fav among his whole production.

The label I’d buy all their releases without even listening to them

I have no label I buy without listen them, sorry every release is different even in same label, and even though I love some labels so much I always find my fav one and something I really don’t like.

The record artwork that blows my mind every time I look at it
Well it is hard to say it “blow mind” such a big word haha… but yes Gunther Lause – Meru EP, I bought this ep not only because of the tracks, that are so good, but also this art work of hindu gods matches well with the tracks.

The record that triggers childhood memories
Bjork – I Miss You…. maybe not for childhood memories but it brings me back the memory of my juvenile hood, when I was just couldn’t control my emotions and depressions and hormones. When I was shivering because of loneliness, Bjork’s humorous expression and surrealistic impression was helping me to calm down many times.

The record shop I would spend my whole savings in
Why anyone would spend his whole savings for buying records in a shop? Every record shop has a different character and collection. And when it comes to shopping, it is more about quality and quantity, maximum I’d buy per each record shopping session is 1 or 2 records per shop….

The record that never leaves my DJ bag
Why should I tell my special weapon to public??

Last record I checked its price on discogs
Unknown Artist ‎– Higher from Sound Of Vast , because we pressed it in a really small amount and its price went up way too high at some point, I’m still curious about the price sometimes.

Last record I bought for my home listening pleasure
Minilogue – Animals album, I really love Minologue… many tracks are hard to play on the dance floor, but I still keep them anyway because it is just so beautiful to listen it anyway….

The record closest to my heart from my entire collection
Subb-an’s Lover’s Night. It blew my mind from the first time I listened to it and it still does when I go to gig and when the night gets deeper, I play this tune and I never ever got bored of it. Such a beautiful track.
