It takes a lot of creative power these days to release on legendary imprints like Cadenza, M_nus, I’m A House Gangster, Ovum while running your very own labels and also signing for underground outposts like BodyParts, Nervmusic or Berg. Andrei aka Tripmastaz does it for more than 20 years. Being both a prolific and a versatile producer requires a deep understanding of the electronic music culture and this is where we met Tripmastaz vinyl alter ego. Andrei was kind enough to invite us into his musical universe with a quick record selection, while pointing out his favourite labels and also his go-to places to dig for good records. A second hand dig I’m most proud of
Not sure if its the most and if ”the most” even exists but what first comes to mind is:

PUBLIC TECHNO – DETROIT ELECTRONICA TRIBE

The record I’d love to see it repressed
Probably Byron C. – How To Operate? with better mastering and cut.

The label I’d buy all their releases without even listening to them
None!

I would say though, at one point in time it could have been Fresca Rec. or Phoenix G or Trelik or Ovum or Wiggle or Nighshift, or Classic or Siesta or Blockhead or even Glasgow Underground back in the days or Metereze from the recent ones amongst many many others.
But I’ve always been pretty picky and particular so I’d say none of them.

The record artwork that blows my mind every time I look at it.

It doesn’t blow my mind like that but maybe album of Purveyors of Fine Funk on Nepenta, or early Relief releases or Outland / Spiritual Records or 83 West or Catalyst.

The record that triggers childhood memories.
Dogg Pound – Dogg Food and again bunch of others like George Morel ‘Lets Groove’ or Marcus Life – Life Will Make You Dance.

The record shop I would spend my whole savings in
Whole??? None of them.. but I’d spend a lot in the ones with non discogs prices in some old dudes basement. Facts.

One record from my early DJ career that I still play today
A lot of them! Dozens and dozens! One? OK…. I won’t say cos I want to play it, not you. hehe… Ok here comes the one:

The record that never leaves my DJ bag
probably G-Flame & Mr.G – Ooohhh

Last record I checked its price on discogs
Perbec – Chaser

One record that sounded way ahead of its time when it was released.
Almost all Gemini records or DJ Jes records. But I’ll say Gemini – Counting Sheep

Last record I bought for my home listening pleasure
J-DIlla Donuts 7” box set edition and Bilal’s debut album which was never pressed on vinyl until the last year.

The record closest to my heart from my entire collection
Can’t tell. It can’t be just one record. Impossible. Over the years it becomes the diary of your DJ life and lifetime, places, parties, events, clubs, people, relationships, recordstores, which in many occasions, don’t exist anymore.
