actually two track pop into my mind: Kirk DeGiorgio Presents Esoterik – Starwaves (Jimpster Remix) and Mike Huckaby – The Deep House World

Deep House is a very wide ranging genre, so had to go with two picks here! The Jimpster remix has a special spring in its step, what with the amazing bassline and vocal stab. It brings a vibe that can work in so many situations, opening, closing, even a sexy dinner party… The Deep House World is a different animal, maybe my favorite Mike Huckaby piece. Very patient, indisputably authoritative, it has that purity, the deep energy simultaneously laidback contemplative and driving emotions into your consciousness.

J Gabriel/Chuffing Buffy is a NYC based production project focused on the quirky, twisted, subtly psychedelic sides of house and techno. Heavy involvement in electronic music creation and celebration for over 15 year, while continually refining deliberate and painstaking studio techniques, has resulted in a distinct underground sound. As the Chuffing Buffy project continues to grow and evolve, there’s a concurrent bevy of Deep House and daytime friendly Minimal leaning cuts being released as J Gabriel. Support for the project has come from all corners of the dance music community, with heavyweight pioneers such as Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig, Mr C and Chez Damier, big room stalwarts like Jamie Jones and Steve Lawler and also from the minimal house scene from Akufen and Sammy Dee to Dorian Paic, Traumer, and many more.
